Love Letters

I have posted some of the things my fiance has said to me before, but I also wanted to post other beautiful love poems, sonnets, and letters. I took an Advanced Shakespeare class in college, and it truly gave me the appreciation for literature and the art of beautiful poetry. I would love to hear anything your love has told you, written to you or vowed to you. Please feel free to share a love letter, one line of devotion, or even your personal vows.

Sonnet 116
Let me not to the marriage of true minds

Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved, I never writ, nor no man ever loved.
William Shakespeare

  1. Christina,

I hope this is where I post what "My Love" has told me. Since I do not have a boyfriend, fiance, or husband "My Love" is going to be my mother. This is the sweetest thing that she or anyone has ever told me. Not long ago, while my Mom and I were driving in the car, I was venting to her about all my insecurities and lack of confidence in my talents and gifts. I was worried and filled with anxiety about my future. I was crying and really just needed her to comfort me in my time of self-doubt and self-loathing which I strangely equate with my perfectionism. My Mom looks over at me and she said, "Caitlin, if you thought about yourself the way I see and loved yourself the way that I love you, you would never worry about anything." Those few and simple words struck me very deeply. In those words of unconditional love there was a parallel. I feel that the Lord was speaking through her to me, and those are his views about me all the time especially during those moments in my life. It meant so much to me that he used my Mom to communicate that to me. He knew that it had to be her to say them, for them to be most powerful. I praise God and thank my Mom.

    Love and Blessings,

    Caitlin
