Engagement Sessions Inspired by Movies

A new fad in the wedding world is designing engagement sessions based off of movies. For couples who are having a more traditional wedding, their engagement session may be the perfect chance for them to go outside the box. Today I'm sharing with you engagement sessions that are inspired and styled from the movies Up, Alice and Wonderland and The Notebook.

Gray Snowy Love

I love this. I love that she has her hands up in the air as though this kiss is a surprise. I love that she is standing on her tippi-toes. I love his bright yellow scarf amongst the gray, cold, background. I love that it's snowing which allows her to wear her oversized toboggan. And I love this photographer, Alexandra Roberts based in Boston, Massachusetts and Portland, Oregon.

What Weddings Are Really All About

"I follow many of the popular blogs out there, and I’m a huge sucker for the unique and fun details at weddings as much as anyone else. However as much as vintage soda bottles, large centerpieces, balloons, and other things make modern weddings so great, I want to take this Valentines Day to remind us all what weddings are really about. The wedding cliche always goes something like ‘after the wedding your cake will be eaten, your flowers will wilt, but you’ll always have your photographs.’ That’s absolutely true, however I’d like to add that while your wedding photographs will hopefully be something you always cherish what you will really “always have” after your wedding is your spouse, your relationship, your family, and your love. That’s what weddings are truly about, regardless of what’s hip or in magazines. Being in love, and sharing that amazing feeling with so many of the people who are important in your life. Watch with us as we remember, here on Valentines Day, why weddings are truly amazing. The people.”

This astonishing photo was taken by, Natalie Moser, a Los Angeles based photographer. She captured this couple's breathtaking love so well, that it feels as though it's jumping right off the page. Not only do I love the overjoyed reaction of the bride, but I adore the venue, the Smog Shoppe, located in Los Angeles as well. It makes for a perfect bohemian style wedding due to the vertical garden, assortment of rugs, and lovely accent table. Enjoy!

All of these beautiful pictures I found at Jose Villa Photography. He is a very talented California based photographer that has been featured in a ton of wedding blogs, and magazines. I started with one of his pictures and then found myself loving more and more. Since, I have recently discovered him and my new found love of his amazing work you will probably be seeing his name pop up a lot lately, especially in my inspiration boards:) Enjoy!

Good afternoon guys! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Thursday. I wanted to share a couple shots I found today from Laurie Peacock, a Chicago based wedding photographer. These shots were taken of a bride on her November 2010 wedding. I love how Laurie captured these small moments of the wedding. I think that is very important in the photographer you pick that they will be able to capture moments you don't see or details you will forget. So enjoy, hopefully these photos will move you as much as they moved me. Hopefully, they won't make you tear up like I did:)

Colorful Outdoor Spring Wedding

This picture is taken from Kellen Jacob's Blog. Kellen is a wonderful photographer and the pictures from this wedding are the very reason I decided to use him as Matt and mine's wedding photographer. He puts such soft touches to all of his photos and I love the shots he captures. There are a ton of wedding photographers out there so be sure to find one that is your style. I will try to highlight more wedding photographers later on, especially in the Birmingham area but for today I think everyone should go check out Kellen:)
